Our COMPA Repair engineers and technical specialists once again managed to repair leaking glass-fibre pipe during a port call in Antwerp, Belgium. The purpose of the repair was to ensure more permanent structural integrity and watertightness of the pipe containing natrium hydroxide (NaOH) and being the part of the scrubber system.
The pipe was previously repaired by the ship’s crew using a pipe repair kit, but the pipe started leaking after some time. The newly applied COMPA patch will be monitored to check its watertightness performance for NaOH media.
